Tomboy Style at Haymaker

“To define a Tomboy requires searching far beyond the simple notion of wearing boys’ clothing. Tomboys have influenced the expanses of popular culture including fashion, film, music and literature. And although the Tomboy is often identified by clothing, what makes her wholly so is an inherent sense of confidence, rebelliousness, and adventure.” -Lizzie Garrett
This weekend I met up with Tessa and Geraly at Haymarket, a fabulous design store in Andersonville, to check out the book release party for Tomboy Style: Beyond the Boundaries of Fashion written by Lizzie Garrett Mettler. Lizzie writes a fantastic blog, called “Tomboy Style”, which IMHO is a refreshing perspective that celebrates style, fashion and attitudes of women who are identified through the Tomboy aesthetic. Being that I’ve often been identified throughout my life as a Tomboy, her blog really resonates with me.
While at Haymarket, I had the pleasure of meeting Lizzie who is as stylish as she is charming and lovely. Congrats to you on your book release, Lizzie! Keep the inspirational posts coming πŸ™‚
Check out her site (where you can also order her book) here. Also, if you are in Chicago, check out Haymaker- the store is full of Midwest specific art and design.
