If you’ve been following my blog, then you may already know that my dog Levee had a mast cell tumor removed from her leg this past March.
Last week K and I were lounging on our couch with Levee and noticed another small bump on her rear leg. After careful inspection, I immediately called our vet to make an appointment to get it checked out. K took her into the vet on Tuesday where they aspirated it and sent the bloodwork off to the lab. This past Saturday, we received a call from our vet confirming that we are in fact dealing with another mast cell tumor. To say that I’m scared and sad is a gross understatement. We have an appointment with the same fantastic surgeon for this Thursday for a consultation and to have the tumor removed. It’s difficult for me to think about my sweet dog undergoing the knife again, as well as the recovery period, pain management and stitches, and I can’t even let my brain wrap around the possibilities of a high grade tumor, as I fall apart whenever I think about it.
Please send positive, loving vibes into the universe for my dog and her quick, healthy recovery. I appreciate it so much.
